Courses start any Monday from two weeks, for adults aged 16 and over, in classes of 12 on average and 15 at most. Students come from across Europe, the Middle East, Latin America and Asia.

City-centre school next to Piccadilly Gardens
NCG Manchester is at 9 Portland Street, on the edge of Piccadilly Gardens. Manchester Piccadilly station is a four-minute walk, the Arndale shopping centre six minutes, and the airport 25 minutes by train. Most students get around by bus or tram. The building has 13 classrooms with interactive whiteboards, free wifi, a games zone with a pool table, a student lounge and a university admissions service. It is British Council accredited, a member of English UK, and an official IELTS test venue, so students can prepare for and sit the exam in the same building.
Courses: General English, IELTS, Intensive and Super Intensive
General English and IELTS Preparation run at 15 hours a week. Add 6 hours of skills and focus classes for the 21-hour Intensive course, or 10 hours for the 25-hour Super Intensive. Focus classes change monthly and include Business English, writing, speaking, listening, reading, functional language, current affairs and graphic design. Every course includes a placement test on arrival, course materials, regular progress tests with tutor feedback, 24/7 student support and an end-of-course certificate. Courses start any Monday with a minimum stay of two weeks. One-to-one lessons are £70 an hour (minimum five hours).
Accommodation: homestay or city-centre residence
Homestay is half board on weekdays and full board at weekends, in single or twin rooms, reached by public transport. Residence options are self-catering single en-suite rooms in city-centre halls within walking distance of the school, with a shared kitchen. Airport transfers can be arranged, and are required for students under 18. NCG also runs a student app for timetables, accommodation details, activity bookings and direct messages to staff.
Life in Manchester and weekend trips
Manchester is the main city of the North West, with two Premier League clubs, a busy live music scene and a student population of more than 75,000. The school organises regular activities such as football stadium tours, city walking tours, bowling, go-karting and FIFA competitions, plus weekend trips with local travel partners to the Lake District, North Wales, York and Liverpool. Staff speak Arabic, Mandarin, Portuguese and Spanish as well as English, though students are encouraged to use English throughout their stay.
