Y-Kurse für junge Lernende kombinieren Englischunterricht mit einem umfassenden Aktivitätsprogramm – Sport, Kunst, kulturelle Besuche, Tagesausflüge. Die Schüler sind in der Regel zwischen 8 und 17 Jahren alt und die Kurse sind nach Alter und Niveau gruppiert, sodass Inhalt und Tempo stimmen.
Mornings sind strukturierte Unterrichtszeit. Nachmittage sind Aktivitäten. Die Idee ist, dass die Schüler weiterhin Englisch außerhalb des Klassenzimmers verwenden, ohne dass es sich wie mehr Schule anfühlt. Die Mitarbeiter haben Erfahrung im Umgang mit jüngeren Schülern und es gibt den ganzen Tag über Betreuung.
Die meisten Programme finden während der Schulferien statt – vor allem im Sommer, aber es gibt auch Oster- und Halbjahreskurse. Die Unterbringung erfolgt in der Regel in Gastfamilien oder Wohnheimen. Viele Schulen bieten Flughafentransfers und eine 24-Stunden-Seelsorge an, was wichtig ist, wenn Ihr Kind alleine reist.
