Family-Run Excellence with 20+ Years
Weymouth English Centre is small, friendly, family-run school offering vibrant junior English language programmes for teenagers aged 13-17 during July and August summer holidays. Founded 2004 with over 20 years combined experience, the British Council accredited school provides quality guarantee through adherence to strict safeguarding policies, regular risk assessments for all activities, and comprehensive code of conduct for students and staff. Teaching staff hold first degrees plus CELTA or Trinity teaching certificates minimum, with mandatory Safeguarding and Prevent training completion.
Times Beach of the Year Location
Located at Weymouth College campus on stunning Jurassic Coast of southwest England, the school sits just a 5-minute walk from magnificent Weymouth Beach which won Times and Sunday Times Beach of the Year 2023. The campus is a 20-minute walk from town centre with excellent amenities, eateries, transport links, and attractions nearby. Weymouth, an authentic English seaside town in one of most beautiful parts of the UK, features a 5-kilometre sandy beach, street cafes, great shopping, historical Nothe Fort, and plenty to offer teenagers.
Four Specialized Course Options
English & Activities offers a diverse programme where students tailor activity choices to personal tastes including football, beach volleyball, SEALIFE Centre, Nothe Fort, mini-golf, rounders, mini-Olympics, tennis, snooker, dance workshops, escape dungeons, cycling, martial arts. English & Sailing and English & Windsurfing (both £1,205/week) provide professional instruction at 2012 Olympic sailing venue with Royal Yachting Association certification upon completion.
Comprehensive Activity Programme
Every programme includes a full schedule of supervised activities providing fun while practicing English. Afternoon options include football, basketball, cricket, volleyball, swimming, field games, beach volleyball, tennis, mini-golf, escape dungeons, dance workshops, martial arts, Weymouth sightseeing, Nothe Fort visits, SEALIFE Centre, pirate golf. Evening activities feature pizza and games on beach, fashion shows, beach games, talent shows and discos. Half-day Wednesday trips explore local attractions while full-day Saturday excursions visit exciting destinations.
