Beet was established by founder Clive Barrow in 1979 with just 3 students and has grown while remaining an independent, family-run school for over 45 years. Located at Nortoft Road, Charminster in a residential area, Beet sits within easy access of Bournemouth centre and miles of award-winning beaches. Bournemouth is a multi-award-winning holiday resort and famous university town offering extensive activities in all seasons. The bustling town provides plenty to see and do with easy access to beautiful countryside and London. The charming 19th-century church school building benefits from latest technology while maintaining historic character.
Comprehensive Course Range
Beet covers all skill levels A1-C1 with dynamic multi-national classes taught by friendly, qualified teachers using latest materials and coursebooks. General English (20 lessons/15 hours weekly) covers vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Students can add 4 or 8 additional lessons weekly through the Options Programme for skills or exam-based study. IELTS Preparation and Cambridge English courses (B2 First, C1 Advanced, C2 Proficiency) prepare students with experienced examiners.
Outstanding Social Programme
Beet’s FREE social programme runs 5 weekday nights offering varied activities students love. Evening events include karaoke, quiz nights, movie nights, games nights, art workshops, music nights, lectures, and more—all designed to help practice English beyond the classroom. Weekend excursions organized by teachers explore the UK. Activities include AFC Bournemouth stadium tours, day trips to historic sites, boat parties, summer cricket in the park, and cultural experiences. he comprehensive programme ensures students make international friends while immersing in British culture.
Medium-Sized International Community
Beet is a medium-sized school averaging 150 students from 20-40 countries, enabling properly structured learning programmes with individual attention focus. The international mix creates dynamic multi-national classes where students from diverse backgrounds learn together.
